Starting anew and meeting goals
I started this blog as an assignment in grad school. And, well, after I graduated, I let it go aside. After working full time and attending grad school simultaneously, I had a great joy in doing nada.
But the events of 2011 has turned this into a year of taking stock and starting anew. Before January was 2 weeks old, I was diagnosed with cancer. I went into shock, and then auto-pilot until I was able to have surgery in April.
I’m delighted to say that I am now 4 months cancer-free. But the recovery process, and the contact I’ve had with my friends and support system throughout the spring and summer, have made me realize that I need to get into action again if I’m going to meet goals.
One of those goals is to write. I may spend some time working on writing fiction (a long-time dream), but I also was inspired by a friend (hint, Jenny, hint) to start my blog anew.
The few posts I made previously were an odd blend of travel and library related items. This blog will focus on life’s journey. After all, I’m roaming through it one way or the other, and I’ll always be a librarian!
